A few
answers.
What is Forge & Fable?
Forge & Fable is a local-first audiobook and ebook app for Android. It brings your own books, reading and listening progress, collections, and discovery together in one library. It isn’t a book subscription service and doesn’t include a bundled catalogue of books to download.
How do I join the beta?
Join the Google Group first, opt in to the Google Play test, then install the app. Use the same Google account for all three steps. You’ll find the links in the beta section below. The app is currently in closed testing, so you need to complete these steps before the Play listing is available.
Can I bring my own books?
Yes. Import your local audiobooks and ebooks, organise them into collections, and edit their details. The app has readers for EPUB, PDF, and MOBI. Only import files you have the right to use; protected files may not be compatible.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Your local library, imported ebooks, and downloaded audiobooks stay available offline. Discovery, metadata searches, streaming, and new downloads need a connection. Optional providers such as TorBox and Real-Debrid use your own provider account.
Is there an iPhone version?
Forge & Fable is currently built for Android 8.0 and later. There isn’t an iPhone version available.
